Project Description

While employed at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium (Sarasota, FL) I was in charge of the marketing plan and implementation for World Oceans Day 2010, a one-day event that takes place at many aquariums around the world. My responsibility in the event included:

  • Event planning and execution
  • Creating special activities for guests such as photos with scuba divers in tanks, local improv troupe performances, sponsor booths, games and more
  • Copywriting
  • Marketing through social media, online media and ad placement
  • Assisting with press coverage
  • Working with Creative Director on ad design
  • Working with Video Director on TV ad spots

Mote Aquarium won the national award from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums for “Best World Ocean Day 2010.” There was also a 20% increase over the previous year’s attendance.
